Sports enthusiasts can look forward to motorbike tours along the mountainous serpentines, wild water rafting and ski pistes. There are swimming lakes with crystal clear water and boat hire, from 11km away, or you can drive to the Mediterranean within an hour. You can experience history and culture in the medieval towns such as Mirepoix (20km) or Limoux (23km) with its carnival. There are Cathar castles in Queribus (80km), Peyrepertuse (90km) and Puylaurens (94km), or you can visit the impressive Romanesque village church I Rennes-le-Chateau (39km), and the famous fortified old town of Carcassonne (Cité de Carcassonne) 47km away.
