Baglio Spanò, the former summer residence of the ancient Montalto Spanò family, is home to one of the most fascinating and authentic bed & breakfasts in this part of Sicily, and is an architectural expression of noble and peasant Sicily, a unique residential setting amidst numerous hectares of vineyards, about 700 metres from the sea and equidistant from Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, from which it is about 13 km away.A farm road winds its way through the vineyards that lap the coast until it reaches the imposing tufa walls of the baglio (bagghiu, in Sicilian slang), a fortified farmhouse with a large courtyard, containing old warehouses, the manor house, stables and cellars, now skilfully restored and part of the bed & breakfastThe facility offers the comfort of a modern structure while expertly preserving the distinctive elements of the old Sicilian farmhouse.
